Animal Farm Rough Draft

Although Animal Farm appears to be a
Simple story about animals, it is actually
A satire of Russian society. It’s about a farm
That is taken over by overworked animals
And try to make it have justice and equality.
In Animal Farm, the pigs use stories to inspire
Others, to empower themselves, and to oppress
The other animals of the farm.

First off, the pigs tell stories that inspire the animals.
Old Major gave a speech before he died. He said he had a wonderful dream that the animals would take over the farm. He wanted all animals to be equal and can have freedom. Another story that inspired was the story of the windmill. Snowball said, “Electricity could operate threshing machines, ploughs, harrows, rollers, and reapers and binders, beside supplying every stall with its own electric light, hot and cold water, and an electric heater.” This inspires the animals because they wouldn’t have to do any more work because the windmill will provide for them. The last stories the pigs tell the other animals to inspire them were the story of the rebellion. Frederick and Pilkington changed their tune and began to talk about how the Animal Farm is terrible. These are the stories that inspire the other animals.

Second the animals told stories to empower the animals on the farm. Napoleon changed the Fourth Commandments without any of the animals knowing. “It says, No animals shall sleep in a bed with sheets”. A different one is the milk and apples that empowered the animals. Squealer told them “Milk and apples contain substances absolutely necessary to the well-being of a pig. We are brainworkers”. The third one that empowered the animals was eggs. One Sunday morning Squealer announced, “Hens who had just come in to lay again must surrender their eggs”. The rerason why he said that so pigs could have eggs for free so they don’t have to pay for them and these are the stories Squealer lied about for power.

Finally there are stories that the pigs told the animals to oppress them. Napoleon took away the meetings because he said there is no point in having them anyway. Another is Napoleon slaughtered the animals. He told most of the animals to come up and confront him and lie and say, “They saw Snowball”. Finally Napoleon changed the commandment to only one and it said, “Some animals are more equal than others”. These were the stories that oppress the animals.

So in Animal Farm the pigs used different stories to inspire, empower, and to oppress the other animals of the farm. In all my main points show how the pigs were mostly in charged and the other animals had to follow them. It matters because the same stuff that happened in the happens in real life. The book is based in Russian time.
